The Thought Space Athletics Muse is a deep, beadless putter rated 3/3/0/2.[1][3] TSA’s own mold page describes it as “a dependable beadless putter built for consistency. Straight flight and a reliable finish make it a trusted choice on the green or off the tee.”[3] The launch copy, now preserved only at retailers, is more specific: “The Muse is a stable beadless putter that fills the hand comfortably being not too shallow and not too deep. Spin putters will love its straight flight and push putters will love its dependable stability.”[4] The PDGA measured it at 21.2cm across and 2.0cm tall with a 1.6cm rim depth — a 7.5% depth ratio, among the deepest putters covered here.[1]

Flight numbers describe the published behavior of the disc when thrown at its design speed. Real-world flight varies with plastic, weight, age, and thrower power. The community-averaged numbers above reflect crowd-sourced observations from real throws — typically slightly more understable than the manufacturer's published values, which is the most consistent pattern across nearly every commercial mold.

The Muse is a putting putter first, with enough fade to work as a short approach disc. Two points of fade against zero turn make it hold its line and finish left for a right-handed backhand rather than drifting.[1][3] The deep 1.6cm rim gives a full-hand grip that suits push putters, while the neutral turn rating keeps spin putts straight.[4] Every documented run is in TSA’s Nerve blend or a Nerve variant — a grippy baseline plastic that, per TSA’s own retail description, “will slowly beat in over time to slightly alter the flight.”[5]

Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.

History

The Muse was approved on 27 September 2021 under certification 21-106, making it TSA’s sixth PDGA-approved mold, behind the Mantra, Animus, Pathfinder, Praxis and Votum.[1][2] The certification record carries an unusual detail: the two photos on the PDGA page are filed as thought_space_muse_failed_flex_0.jpg and thought_space_muse_retest.jpg, and the page was created on 26 August 2021 but modified on 27 September — consistent with a mold that failed its initial flexibility test and passed on retest a month later at 8.98kg.[1] Because the Muse pre-dates the Alter by ten months, the Alter is the beaded answer to the Muse rather than the other way round.[2] Infinite Discs recorded a second run in June 2022 in a reformulated, softer Nerve, alongside a limited UV Reactive Nerve release.[6] The Muse is the one TSA putter never given a premium plastic — no Aura, Ethos or Ethereal run is documented — and TSA has since deleted both its product page and its /collections/muse page, which now renders zero products, while still listing the mold on the canonical molds page.[3] Only the Best Discs tags its Muse listing “Out of Production.”[4] TSA has never published a weight range, a release date or a designer credit, and no professional is documented bagging one. Flight numbers are uncontested at 3/3/0/2 across TSA and every retailer checked; the only conflict is max weight, where Infinite Discs lists 174g against the PDGA’s certified 176.0g.[1]
