The Axiom Tenacity is the understable member of Axiom's 23mm distance driver class, sharing that rim with the Panic and the Mayhem.[1] Axiom lists it at 13 / 5 / -2.5 / 2, and Infinite Discs, Disc Golf Puttheads and Inside the Circle DG all publish the same numbers.[1][3][4] Axiom's own comparison is a worn MVP Catalyst, and the disc carries the evenly domed top that brand uses to promote glide.[1] Infinite Discs classes it as understable and beadless, with a reviewer average of 13 / 5 / -2.5 / 1.9 across 19 ratings.[3] Axiom notes that fade shows up more as power drops, so slower arms get a straighter flight than the numbers suggest.[1]

Flight numbers describe the published behavior of the disc when thrown at its design speed. Real-world flight varies with plastic, weight, age, and thrower power. The community-averaged numbers above reflect crowd-sourced observations from real throws — typically slightly more understable than the manufacturer's published values, which is the most consistent pattern across nearly every commercial mold.

Disc Golf Puttheads lists hyzer flips, long turnovers, tailwind bombs and distance rollers as the Tenacity's core shots, plus sweeping forehand hyzer-flips.[4] Infinite reviewers describe using it for tunnel lines that turn gradually and for long S-shaped drives, with one reporting a 350-foot flip-up-and-ride flight.[3] It is not a headwind disc; reviewers there warn it turns hard into wind.[3] Newer players can still throw it, because the fade returns at lower power.[1][4]

Neutron

Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.

History

Axiom certified the Tenacity with the PDGA on April 13, 2017 under certification number 17-49.[2] It arrived as the understable third of the brand's 23mm distance class, where Axiom's stability ladder runs Panic, then Mayhem, then Tenacity.[1] Axiom describes it as the brand's understable bomber and compares the flight to a beaten MVP Catalyst.[1] The mold has stayed in Neutron plastic throughout: Axiom's product page shows only Neutron, and Infinite Discs carries Neutron and Neutron misprints.[1][3] Limited stamp runs have appeared, including a 2018 Marmoset stamp and a 2021 Special Edition Neutron run drawn by MVP's Mike Inscho.[1] Axiom's own bag table names Sarah Hokom throwing a 172g Neutron and Chance Stad a 173g.[1] No mold revision is documented, and the Tenacity remains in production nine years after approval.[1][3]
