Overview
The Innova RhynoX is a very overstable putt-and-approach disc rated 2 / 1 / 0 / 4 on Innova's own product page.[2] It is, by Innova's description, "a more overstable version of the Rhyno... designed for short-range throws with hefty fade," carrying the same Thumbtrac™ grip channel on the flight plate as its parent mold.[2] The profile is tall and narrow for the class — 2.0cm height against a 1.0cm rim width on a 21.2cm diameter — which is where the fade comes from.[2][3] IsaacSam summarises it as a more overstable Rhyno that never found an audience.[1] Note that a number of retailers list the mold as 2 / 1 / 0 / 3; Innova and the PDGA name it "RhynoX" and "Rhyno X" respectively.[2][3]

Innova lists the RhynoX as a best choice for "upshots around obstacles, headwind putts" and for Thumbtrac fans.[2] In practice that means short approaches where you want the disc to fade hard and stop rather than skip, headwind putts that a straighter putter would ride up on, and forehand upshots that need torque resistance at low speed. Innova's product page lists only DX plastic at 165–175g, though XT and R-Pro runs have appeared through retailers.[2][4] With 1 glide it carries very little — this is a placement and utility tool, not a driving putter.

Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.
History
The RhynoX was PDGA-approved on March 5, 2020 under certification number 20-23, with a 176.0g maximum weight, 21.2cm diameter, 2.0cm height, 1.3cm rim depth and 1.0cm rim thickness.[3] Its timing was unfortunate: IsaacSam records that the March 2020 release ran straight into the COVID-19 pandemic, after which Innova prioritised its popular molds, and that the disc has drawn poor reviews online and never developed a following.[1] IsaacSam also noted — writing in 2021–22 — that Innova's own website still described the RhynoX as "coming soon"; that is still true today, with the official product page headed "COMING SOON!" more than six years after PDGA approval.[1][2] The mold sits in Innova's speed-2 putt-and-approach group alongside the Rhyno it derives from.[2]
