The Kratos is Paul McBeth's beaded putt-and-approach mold for Discraft, rated 3 | 3 | 0 | 3 with a stability figure of 1.0 on Discraft's own product page.[1] Discraft describes it as "this overstable putt and approach disc … designed for superior performance, offering unmatched consistency and control,"[1] and as "the 7th disc to join Paul McBeth's lineup."[6] Its lineage runs through the Luna: Discraft says the Kratos was "crafted to be slightly shallower than the beloved Luna and featuring a distinctive bead on the rim," making it a disc derived from the Luna rather than the Luna mold with a bead bolted on.[6] Team Discraft adds that it is more overstable than a Luna, naming "windy putts, sweeping turnovers, and gentle hyzers" as its specialty.[4] PDGA measurements are 21.1 cm diameter, 2.0 cm height, 1.4 cm rim depth and a 1.1 cm rim, with a 175.1 g maximum.[2]

History
The Kratos was PDGA approved on December 26, 2023 under certification 23-279, and the PDGA published its approval announcement the same day.[2][3] The certification record carries an unusually revealing artifact: one of the submission images filed with the PDGA is named "beaded_luna.png," matching Discraft's own account of the mold's lineage.[2][6] It shipped as part of Discraft's Paul McBeth line rather than as a standalone release. Stock plastics on discraft.com are Z, Big Z, Putter Line Soft and Putter Line Hard — Discraft introduced the Big Z run as "a new stock option for the recently released Kratos" that is "now a part of Discraft's Big Z lineup."[1][5][6] CryZtal Kratos discs do exist, including one tied to the 2024 Great Lakes Open, but CryZtal does not appear in Discraft's own putt-and-approach catalogue for this mold, so those are event and retailer runs rather than stock plastic.[1] Two labelling caveats are worth recording: Discraft's retail copy calls the disc "overstable" while Team Discraft's store listing calls it "slightly overstable" against the same 1.0 stability rating, and that Team Discraft listing also describes the Kratos as "Discraft's first shallow beaded putter" — a claim that appears nowhere on discraft.com and is reported here as Team Discraft's wording rather than as established fact.[1][4]
