The Axiom Envy is a 3-speed overstable putt & approach. With published flight numbers of 3 / 3 / 0 / 2, it is most often described as suited for overstable approaches, wind putts.
Overview
The Axiom Envy is a flat-topped, overstable putt-and-approach disc with a strong 2 fade. Its gyro overmold construction gives the Envy a stable, wind-resistant flight that has made it a tournament favorite.
Flight characteristics
Flight numbers describe the published behavior of the disc when thrown at its design speed. Real-world flight varies with plastic, weight, age, and thrower power. The community-averaged numbers above reflect crowd-sourced observations from real throws — typically slightly more understable than the manufacturer's published values, which is the most consistent pattern across nearly every commercial mold.
Recommended uses
The Envy excels on overstable approaches, windy putts, forehand upshots, and short spike hyzers. Cosmic Neutron Envys, in particular, have become collector items. Soft Electron plastic is the favored putting run; Plasma is the throwing-focused premium.
Best for:
- Overstable approaches
- Wind putts
- Forehand upshots
- Spike hyzers
Plastics & variants
The Envy is available in the following plastic blends from Axiom:
Neutron, Electron, Plasma, Fission, Cosmic Neutron, Eclipse 2.0
Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.
History
Approved in 2015, the Envy has been one of Axiom's flagship molds. Its overstable flight character and unique gyro feel have earned it a dedicated following — Envys are routinely featured in 'top approach disc' rankings.
