The Innova Corvette is a 14-speed stable distance driver. With published flight numbers of 14 / 6 / -1 / 2, it is most often described as suited for maximum-distance tailwind drives for high-power arms, long hyzerflip lines that flatten out and glide.

Overview

The Innova Corvette is a speed-14 distance driver rated 14 / 6 / -1 / 2 by Innova.[1] Innova describes it as sitting among its fastest class of drivers, offering 'extended glide, fairway accuracy, and commanding distance,' and explicitly frames the mold as performing 'like the venerable Shryke, only faster.'[1] IsaacSam reaches the same conclusion independently, calling it 'a faster version of the Innova Shryke' and suggesting it may be the farthest-flying disc in the Innova lineup.[2] The 2.3 cm rim is among the widest Innova produces,[3] and the disc is understable enough at speed that IsaacSam notes intermediate players can still get distance from it.[2]

Flight numbers describe the published behavior of the disc when thrown at its design speed. Real-world flight varies with plastic, weight, age, and thrower power. The community-averaged numbers above reflect crowd-sourced observations from real throws — typically slightly more understable than the manufacturer's published values, which is the most consistent pattern across nearly every commercial mold.

The Corvette rewards genuine distance arm speed: flat max-effort drives, hyzerflip lines that stand up and ride the glide, and tailwind bombs where the 6 glide does the work.[1][2] The wide rim also makes it a common pick for skip shots.[2] Innova sells it in Halo Star, Star, GStar, and Champion, all in the 165–175 g bracket.[1] Note that Innova rates the GStar run differently — the company states the GStar Corvette numbers were updated to 14 / 6 / -2 / 2 to reflect its less stable flight.[1] Under-thrown, the disc fades out early like any speed-14 mold.

Best for:

  • Maximum-distance tailwind drives for high-power arms
  • Long hyzerflip lines that flatten out and glide
  • Wide-open forehand distance bombs
  • Skip shots off the wide rim
  • A first speed-14 step up from a Shryke or Destroyer

Plastics & variants

The Corvette is available in the following plastic blends from Innova:[2]

Halo Star, Star, GStar, Champion

Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.

History

The Corvette was PDGA-approved on December 16, 2018 under certification number 18-83.[3] Innova lists the same approval date on its own product page.[1] IsaacSam files it under 2018 in his run-through of every Innova mold and reports that, of Innova's speed-14 offerings, 'the Corvette seems to be doing the best of the bunch,' while noting most players stop at 12–13 speeds for comfort and control reasons.[2] He also identifies it as popular in FPO and as Lisa Fajkus' tour series mold;[2] Innova released a Lisa Fajkus Tour Series Color Glow Champion Corvette in 2019.[4] One inconsistency is worth flagging: the PDGA certification photographs and one of Innova's own product images show a Pro-plastic Corvette, but Pro does not appear in Innova's current list of available Corvette plastics, so that run appears to be historical.[1][3]
