The Innova Bullfrog is a 3-speed stable putt & approach. With published flight numbers of 3 / 1 / 0 / 1, it is most often described as suited for headwind putts, aggressive, attacking putting styles.
Overview
The Innova Bullfrog is a 3/1/0/1 putt-and-approach disc built around an aggressive putting grip. Innova describes “a natural, easy-to-release grip in a profile designed for aggressive putting styles” and says the “chain-grabbing XT plastic enhances the feel and has the durability players expect in a go-to putter.”[2] Its defining trait is how little it glides: Innova markets the Bullfrog’s “minimal glide and wind-fighting ability” as what keeps it on target,[2] and IsaacSam’s Innova guide describes the mold as “an AviarX3 with a convex edge” with “almost no glide” and a slightly overstable finish — a stability label a step firmer than the 0 turn / 1 fade Innova publishes.[1][2] The PDGA records it at 21.1 cm diameter with a 1.0 cm rim and a 175.1 g maximum weight.[3]
Flight characteristics
Flight numbers describe the published behavior of the disc when thrown at its design speed. Real-world flight varies with plastic, weight, age, and thrower power. The community-averaged numbers above reflect crowd-sourced observations from real throws — typically slightly more understable than the manufacturer's published values, which is the most consistent pattern across nearly every commercial mold.
Recommended uses
Innova lists the Bullfrog’s best uses as headwind putts, aggressive putts, and any putt inside 30 feet.[2] The low glide is the whole point: the disc resists drifting long past the basket and fights wind rather than riding it.[2] It doubles as a short approach disc for players who want the disc to land and stay rather than skip out. IsaacSam notes that the Bullfrog, unlike the Pig, has no Thumtrac, so it grips like a conventional putter rather than a utility mold.[1]
Best for:
- Headwind putts
- Aggressive, attacking putting styles
- Any putt inside 30 feet
- Short approaches that must stop where they land

Plastics & variants
The Bullfrog is available in the following plastic blends from Innova:[2]
XT
Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.
History
The PDGA approved the Bullfrog on 4 November 2018 under certification number 18-74, and Innova’s own product page prints the same 11/04/18 date, so the two agree.[2][3] Innova launched it that December: its dealer product update for December 2018 announced the “New! XT Bullfrog Putter” at 165–175 g with a $13.99 MSRP, and offered first-release “Star Stamp” XT Bullfrogs limited to 25 discs per customer while stock-stamp sales were unlimited.[4] XT is the only plastic Innova has ever listed for the mold.[2] IsaacSam files the Bullfrog under 2018 and reads it as “Innova’s first crack at a more neutral version of the Pig,” adding that people have compared it to the old Ching Tank.[1] He is candid that it made little impact — “I have not heard much hype about this disc, and I have never seen one of these on coverage” — and no professional is documented bagging one, so no notable throwers are claimed here.[1]
