The Discraft Force is a 12-speed very overstable distance driver. With published flight numbers of 12 / 5 / 0 / 3, it is most often described as suited for forehand drives, heavy wind.
Overview
The Discraft Force is a 12-speed distance driver with a flat turn rating, making it noticeably more overstable than the Zeus or Destroyer at equivalent weights. It's a go-to forehand and headwind driver for advanced players who need predictable fade without sacrificing distance.
Flight characteristics
Flight numbers describe the published behavior of the disc when thrown at its design speed. Real-world flight varies with plastic, weight, age, and thrower power. The community-averaged numbers above reflect crowd-sourced observations from real throws — typically slightly more understable than the manufacturer's published values, which is the most consistent pattern across nearly every commercial mold.
Recommended uses
The Force is most at home on forehand drives where rim stability prevents flipping, and on backhand hyzer lines that need to fade hard to the left for a RHBH player. In strong headwinds, the Force will hold its line where the Zeus would turn over. Big Z plastic is favored for forehand work.
Best for:
- Forehand drives
- Heavy wind
- Skip shots
- Overstable hyzer drives
Plastics & variants
The Force is available in the following plastic blends from Discraft:
ESP, Z, Big Z, CryZtal Sparkle
Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.
History
Approved in 2014, the Force predates the Zeus by seven years and was for a long time Discraft's primary overstable distance driver. Even after the Zeus arrived, the Force has held its place as the more overstable, more wind-resistant option in many pro bags.
