The Latitude 64 Bolt is a speed-13 distance driver rated 6 glide, -2 turn and 3 fade — the understable end of the brand's distance lineup.[2] Latitude 64 calls it “one of our more understable distance drivers,” designed so that players without elite arm speed can still get a high-speed mold to stay up and glide rather than dumping into an early fade.[2] The PDGA record gives it a 2.4 cm rim, a 1.7 cm height and a 175.1 g weight limit.[1]

Flight numbers describe the published behavior of the disc when thrown at its design speed. Real-world flight varies with plastic, weight, age, and thrower power. The community-averaged numbers above reflect crowd-sourced observations from real throws — typically slightly more understable than the manufacturer's published values, which is the most consistent pattern across nearly every commercial mold.

Thrown flat with real power the Bolt produces a long S-curve: it turns over, rides the glide, then finishes with a fade of 3 that keeps it from burning to the ground.[2][3] That profile makes it a natural tailwind driver and a strong big-anhyzer and flex-line option. Latitude 64 markets it as a high-speed disc for arms that cannot yet handle an overstable 13-speed.[3] Players at the lower end of the power range should look at the 120–130 g Zero Gravity run rather than a max-weight Opto.[4]

History

The PDGA approved the Bolt on May 17, 2011 under certification number 11-20, measuring 21.1 cm in diameter with a 1.7 cm height, 1.1 cm rim depth and a 2.4 cm rim.[1] Only one Bolt certification exists — there is no retool record — and no designer is credited on any Latitude 64 page, PDGA record or retailer listing. No source documents a retail release date distinct from the approval, so 2011 should be read as the approval year. The mold remains in active production: Opto and Gold Line Bolts are in stock on Latitude 64's own store, and the Bolt is absent from the brand's 2025 mold retirement announcement.[3][5] One labelling conflict is worth noting — Latitude 64 and Disc Golf Puttheads both classify the Bolt as understable, while Marshall Street prints the same 13/6/-2/3 numbers under a “Stable” label.[2][4] No documented touring pro bags a Bolt.
